MEI Technologies CEO Ed Muñiz Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2010 Award Winner

Representatives from MEI Technologies, Inc., a nationwide technology company, today announced that Ed Muñiz, CEO received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2010 Award in the technology category in Houston & Gulf Coast Area.

According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. An independent panel of judges selected Muñiz, who received the award at a gala event at the Omni Hotel Houston June 24, 2010.

“I am honored to receive this award and recognition,” Muñiz said. “This is an achievement I share with my company and our team who work so hard every day merging excellence and innovation for our customers.”

MEI Technologies provides innovative solutions in applied engineering, IT/cyber security, research and development, biotechnology and optics for public and private sectors.

This is the 24th anniversary of The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards. The program honors entrepreneurs who demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

As a Houston & Gulf Coast Area award winner, Muñiz is eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California Nov. 13, 2010. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
