MEI Technologies, Inc. was awarded the 2009 Goddard Contractor Excellence Award from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in the small business service category. The accolade demonstrates MEI Technologies’ commitment to excellence.

“To be considered for the award, applicants are asked to provide evidence of contract performance and customer satisfaction, meeting schedules, controlling costs, quality and productivity improvements, management commitment to continuous improvement, human resource utilization and strategic planning and long term research and development,” said Rob Strain, GSFC director. “The winners of this year’s award were chosen because of their outstanding continuous improvement efforts and contributions to Goddard’s mission.”

MEI Technologies demonstrated these results through its work on the Electrical Systems Engineering Services (ESES) contract and through the launch of several continuous improvement, technology, and health and safety initiatives.

“We took steps to empower our employees to think as an engineering company; one that is always solving problems for our customer,” said Dwight Yoder, ESES deputy program manager. “We focused more clearly on solving the problem, how to solve it better, measuring the improvement and continuously repeating the cycle, which was ultimately recognized by our customer with this honor.”
