Aegis Aerospace’s First Lunar Test Facility, RAC, is Moonbound!
And we are officially Moonbound! We have witnessed history from Launch Complex 39A. Our Regolith Adherence Characterization (RAC) lunar test facility is on a 45-day journey to the Moon on Firefly’s Blue Ghost lunar lander. RAC will determine how lunar regolith adheres to a range of materials exposed to the Moon’s environment. The data captured will allow the industry to test, improve, and protect spacecraft, spacesuits, and habitats from abrasive regolith. What an exciting day for the RAC team, our company, and everyone involved in this historic event!
