MEI Technologies, Inc. (MEIT) is humbled to announce its Founder and Executive Chairman of the Board, Edelmiro “Ed” Muñiz, has been inducted into the Texas A&M University Distinguished Aerospace Engineering Alumni Academy as a Distinguished Aerospace Engineering Alumni. Inducted during the Aerospace Engineering Annual Awards Banquet this month, Muñiz was one of only two recipients this year.

The Aerospace Alumni Academy was established in 2009 to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding alumni and friends who champion the Aerospace Engineering profession, create a sense of community and camaraderie within the department, and facilitate interaction and continuity with the student body and its alumni and corporate friends.

“As a classmate of Ed’s at Texas A&M and as a now-retired faculty member of the Aerospace Engineering department, I was most pleased to hear of his induction into the Texas A&M Aerospace Engineering Distinguished Alumni Academy as a Distinguished Aerospace Engineering Alumni,” shared Dr. Walter Haisler, Professor Emeritus, Texas A&M University. “His record of achievement as a successful entrepreneur and contributor to the engineering community brings great distinction to the department and to Texas A&M University.  Through his leadership, engineering and business skills, Mr. Muñiz will serve as a role model for aspiring aerospace engineers.”

Muñiz earned his bachelor and graduate degrees from Texas A&M in Aerospace Engineering. Upon graduation, he served a decorative career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After a short stint in the private sector, he launched his company known today as MEI Technologies, Inc. (MEIT) providing services and solutions to the aerospace, defense and biotechnology markets.
