MEIT employee supports pandemic supply needs
MEIT employee, Tina Trinh, exemplifies the company tagline of “merging excellence and innovation.” Tina supports the Soft Goods Lab of the Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) at NASA JSC . The Soft Good Lab designs, developments and manufactures ground support, prototypes, and flight soft goods components. This can range from vehicle and Station needs—such as wall nets, locker nets, window shades and sleeping bags—to the design and development of the next-generation lunar space suit for U.S. return to the moon.
During the Covid-19 pandemic protective face masks shortage, Tina and her teammates utilized their skills to support their NASA Directorate and community. They designed and fabricated three-layered cloth masks. With the help of additional volunteers to help with cutting material, the team was able to supply roughly 150 masks to the HHPC mission essential employees. Additionally, the team supplied masks to the Houston Police Department and over 1,500 masks to a local church, hospital and nursing homes.
The pandemic is a tough time for many, yet we are thankful to see so many stepping up to the plate to help others. Way to go, Tina and the HHPC team!
