MEIT Helps Celebrate Two Innovation Index Awards in Dayton
MEI Technologies, Inc. (MEIT) helps celebrate two awards presented to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) 711th Human Performance Wing, Human Effectiveness Directorate (711 HPW/RH) at the 2016 Innovation Index Awards held in Dayton.
The Innovation Index Awards, created by The Dayton Business Journal in partnership with the Dayton Development Coalition, is designed to select the best individuals, teams and companies who discovered innovative approaches and solutions to fuel the region’s economic engine.
The 711 HPW/RH (Warfighter Readiness Research Division), took home first place in the Warfighter Innovation category – given to companies that have innovative approaches or products that help benefit the warfighter – for its work on Warfighter Readiness Research Division, Security LVC Advanced Training Environment (SLATE). SLATE, utilizing a live, virtual, constructive (LVC) approach, is helping to ensure that the training received by the United States Air Force prepares the warfighter for the ever-changing threats they face in combat.
The 711 HPW/RH (Wright Brothers Institute) also won third place in the Workforce Development category – which exemplifies a commitment to the future of the workforce in the Dayton Region – for its work on Gaming Research Integration for Learning Laboratory (GRILLA).
MEIT salutes the 711 HPW/RH and is proud to join the award-winning SLATE team. MEIT manages the Engineering, Professional and Administrative Support Services (EPASS) Task Order providing Advisory and Assistance Support (A&AS) to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Program Development and Integration Directorate (XZ) at WPAFB.
AFLCMC/XZ is the technology transition agent working with the SLATE team to transition the Advanced Technology Demonstration to a program of record(s).
