MEIT lands moon-and-beyond contract
Officials at MEI Technologies, Inc. (MEIT) have announced the company has been chosen by NASA as its prime contractor on the Deep Space Logistics ENgineering Support (LENS) contract. Awarded under the General Services Administration One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) contract, MEIT will provide engineering services support to the Deep Space Logistics (DSL) Project at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
“We are thrilled to be awarded the LENS contract—and be a part of this critical program supporting NASA’s exploration initiatives—providing insight, surveillance, systems engineering, analysis, and mission operations support services to the Deep Space Logistics (DSL) Project,” stated MEIT CEO, David Cazes. “It is an honor to continue to work with NASA to advance space exploration in the Gateway and Moon to Mars arenas.”
Under LENS, MEIT expands its Florida presence to provide engineering support to NASA for Gateway Logistics Services (GLS) IDIQ contract commercial service provider designs, analyses, testing, manufacturing, verification, validation, assembly, integration, checkout, and mission preparations for end-to-end services required to deliver cargo, payloads, or other Gateway and Moon to Mars elements to lunar orbit and deep space.
Leading up to the LENS win, MEIT has supported over 350 payload and experiment packages and has enabled over 1 million hours of science in space. MEIT is an OASIS Small Business Prime Contractor (Pools 4, 5A, 5B & 6) and OASIS Unrestricted Prime Contractor (Pool 6).
