MEIT named a Fit-Friendly Worksite!

The American Heart Association (AHA) has named MEIT a Gold-level Fit-Friendly Worksite recipient for promoting employee health and fitness in the workplace. To be eligible for this award, worksites must fulfill criteria such as offering employees physical activity support, increasing healthy eating options at work and promoting a wellness culture.

“The recognition received from AHA is confirmation of MEIT’s continued and growing commitment to the health of our employees,” shared MEIT generalist Chelsea Huffman. “I am proud to be part of an organization that truly cares about the wellness of its workforce, and I look forward to partnering with company leaders and employees to find fun and innovative ways to stay healthy.”

MEIT has spearheaded and supported a variety of events and efforts including: wellness day events, flu shots, a company sponsored fitness center membership, health and wellness guest speaker sessions, fitness challenges, providing pedometers to employees, and being an active supporter of AHA initiatives.
