STPSat-7 FACT SHEET

Launch Date: December 2025

Spacecraft: STP-S29A, which is using the NG Minotaur IV

Mission Summary

STPSat-7 is a free-flying satellite comprised of 5 DoD SERB experiments.

Payload Overview

STPSat-7 experiments include:

  • NanoUHFComms

    • NanoUHFComms will demonstrate military SATCOM capabilities for proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO), including message broadcast services and over-the-horizon point-to-point communications with on-orbit Doppler correction.

  • LARADO

    • NRL’s LARADO (Laser-sheet Anomaly Resolution and Debris Observation) instrument is a NASA sponsored concept for counting and characterizing in situ small orbital debris (<3cm) that cannot be observed from the ground; in support of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) Heliophysics Division (HPD) nascent Orbital Debris and Space Situational Awareness (OD/SSA) program.

  • GARI-1C

    • The GAGG Radiation Instrument (GARI) is designed to space-qualify new gamma-ray detector technology for space-based defense applications. The detector technology offers improved energy resolution, lower power consumption and reduced size compared to similar systems.

  • GOSAS

    • The GNSS Orbiting Situational Awareness Sensor (GOSAS) is a CubeSat-compatible, programmable dual GPS receiver designed to characterize the orbital GNSS environment and produce high quality ionospheric space weather products.

  • SFPE

    • The Satellite Fingerprint Experiment (SFPE) will demonstrate enhanced security and information assurance for mission-critical systems through the use of a novel physical security primitive.

About the Space Test Program (STP)

The Space Test Program (STP) is United States Space Force DoD program under the Space Systems Command. STP performs exquisite services: mission design, payload-to-bus integration, space vehicle-to-launch integration, and on-orbit operations for S&T payloads that exhibit potential military utility. By advancing scientific knowledge and capability, STP is foundational to ensuring continuous STP advantage in the space domain. Aegis Aerospace has supported this work for over three decades.
